clean and clear that if the Officials wouldn’t award the point it
would make them look biased but gave me the satisfaction of
knowing otherwise.

Fighters who understand Distance and Timing are the most
formidable! This strategy that was applied to every opponent. It
was my equalizer! Having the right distance helped to nullify
strengths. As a Defensive fighter, the opponent's Offensive
Distance versus my Defensive Distance was critical. My Defensive
Distance allowed me to stay just outside of their range and Timing
allowed me to counter at the right time. Remember as I stated
above that I believed that whoever attacked first had to create an
opening thus the proper Distance and Timing allowed me to take
advantage of that opening.
Fakes are a good example of how to
exploit a Natural Reaction!
Studying people’s natural reactions as well as my own allowed me
to understand and exploit an opponent’s natural reactions or use
my natural reaction to my benefit. The “Flinch Factor” concept
discussed later exploited that reaction to freeze an opponent in
place for a split second to gain an advantage.
My natural reaction to lean away from a sudden movement
became a Retreating Step Away Side Kick. The reactive lean would
shift my weight to my rear leg freeing up the lead leg to fire a
retreating side kick.
Fakes are a good example of how to exploit a Natural Reaction!
