position to immediately execute the second kick or is re-positioning
of the foot required first?
Once their response has been
“conditioned”, change the target and they
will still respond as conditioned.
Imagine the basic Back Kick position where the feet are close
together facing away from the target. The “trick” is to retract the
Roundhouse Kick to that basic Back Kick position to make it
possible to immediately shift into the Three Weapons position for
the next kick!
In essence, position yourself at the end of one technique to be
ready and able to immediately execute the next technique with
the least amount of shifting or pivoting.

During the 1890’s, the Russian
physiologist, Ivan Pavlov was re-
searching the salivation of dogs in
response to being fed. To para-
phrase, Pavlov found that the dogs
began to salivate when they heard
him coming to feed them. He then
started ringing a bell when he
brought food to the dogs. After a
while, the dogs associated the bell
with being fed and Pavlov could
ring the bell and the dogs would start to salivate regardless of
whether food was brought or not.
This learned behavior is called Conditioned Response.
