BEYOND BASICS

delivered in different ways. This applies to any Block, Strike, or
Kick. A Roundhouse Kick can be delivered with the front leg,
rear leg, cross step, jumping, etc. but the caveat is that it’s
going to be the same specific Roundhouse Kick. The kick done
with the instep or the ball of the foot, are two different
Roundhouse Kick packages which may need to be delivered
               differently to be effective.

Two other factors are required for effectiveness: Proper
               Technique and Distance.

Your technique must be performed as correctly as possible to
be effective. Overextending and jamming the technique
reduces its effectiveness. As us old guys say, "Back in the Day”
when there was a home Newspaper Delivery service, we called
them "Paperboys". If the paperboy didn't fold the paper
correctly it would unravel in flight causing a "package" failure.

The main error which prevents the rapid
flow of a combination technique is being
out of position for the next technique

Delivering the Package at the proper distance is always critical
as overextension or jamming is caused by improper distance.
Back to our paperboy. If the destination is the front door
welcome mat and the paper is thrown on the driveway or
through the front window, that’s ineffective delivery caused
by poor distancing. Right package, poor delivery! How the
package is delivered is just a important as the package itself.
