THE GROWTH OF AN EYELASH
ANAGEN (GROWTH) OCCURS IN THREE PHASES
-
The Anagen Growth Phase - which is the stage
1ST MONTH
when the eyelash is actively growing. At any given
0-4 WEEKS OLD time, approximately 30% of your eyelashes are in
SHORTEST LASHES this active growing phase. This phase typically
IMMATURE INFANTS lasts about 7 weeks.
WEAKEST LASHES
The Catagen Growth Cycle - is the stage also called
GENERALLY UNRULY the lag phase because during this time the growth
RAPID GROWTH of the eyelash stops, and the follicle begins to
ENTERS NEXT PHASE shrink. This phase lasts typically for 3 weeks.
The Telogen Growth Stage - is the final stage
CATAGEN
(TRANSITIONAL) where the eyelash falls out. You always have
eyelashes in every stage of growth. This
- staggering of the phases is why you don’t lose all
2ND MONTH your eyelashes at any one time.
4-8 WEEKS OLD

Lashes grow either upwards, more or less
LONGEST LASHES
straight, or downwards. The growth direction of

THICKER LASHES lashes determines the recommended curl choices
for extensions.
