Women helping Women!

“Women helping Women” is an expression or words that we believe in. Our Val-
ley Sunset District members believe in the words and put them into action! Our
members believe in our Federation and its focus, and the women put it into action!

As a District it was decided that each of our Clubs and Members-at-Large would
be more involved with our District activities, so each of the Clubs accepted the re-
sponsibility to chair one of our District meetings. Hollywood was responsible for the
National Business Women’s “Women of Achievement” Conference in October.
The Members-at-Large invited us to celebrate the December holiday at the Smoke
House Restaurant in Burbank and gave us time to chat and provided gift cards for
those in need. The. new year started with the Conejo Valley Club bringing interesting
speakers from our own BPW membership and from the Thousand Oaks community on
issues of importance to women. At our Annual Conference in April, the Burbank BPW
club will do the program concentrating voting. They will have some exceptional
speakers to inform us about voting.

“Women helping Women” also came into action when the District President be-
came out of circulation due to an accident and surgery. The Valley Sunset Dis-
trict members took the reins to carry on proving that our BPWers are true activists to
carry out the words “Women Helping Women.”
