RACLETTE-NACHTISCH
Rolle in unserem Leben.
In ancient civilizations, sweets were fed to the gods. Ancient Mesopotamia, ancient India, and other ancient
civilizations all have had similar traditions to appease their gods. Although we might not be gods ourselves,
we sure would love to be treated as one! And as such, we should enjoy sweet desserts just as much as we
enjoy the time spent with those who give us these miraculous gifts of life. Deserts help us fully digest our
meals and rid of any conflicting aftertastes. The tradition then would have been spread all over the world,
with Europe and America adopting this method of meals, although a bit altered.
As a
means to end the meal, sweets were eaten to clear aftertastes and have a happy atmosphere. These
delicacies were enjoyed by the aristocratic families, but now, we also have a the ability to do so! Although
the amount of sweets given out depend in where you are in the world, it would still account to a big part of
the process, and should be enjoyed by everyone at least once. What is regularly seen would be small sweets
such as ice cream, pies, and puddings. The amount given out would also depend on how big the event is and
how many people are attending, there might be a lot of sweets given or there might be a little bit. All in all,
desserts transitioned from meals to gods to happy endings with our loved ones, as a means to appease
everyone's appetite and keep everyone in a positive atmosphere.
