                                                                      obtained show a decrease in the sagging
                                                                      of the weld penetration, in comparison
                                                                      with welding without backing, by several

    (b).                                                                      Also,  studies were  carried  out  of
                                                                      the  influence  of  various  TIG  welding
                                                                      methods (Figure 7) on the relative length
                                                                      of oxide inclusions (Δo.v.) and the value
                                                                      of  the sagging of  the weld penetration
                                                                      (hprop.) in the welds of the AMg6 alloy.
                                                                      In accordance with the results obtained,
                                                                      the  use  of  a  conventional  tape  as  a
                                                                      backing  in  welding  effectively  reduces
                                                                      the  sagging  of  the  weld penetration,
                                                                      but contributes to an increase in oxide
                  a                                b                  inclusions in the weld metal. In addition,

    from oxide inclusions, but it does not effectively reduce the sagging of the weld penetration.
    The most effective method in TIG welding on the formation and quality of welds of the AMg6
    alloy is the use of a flux tape, which contributes to the complete removal of oxide inclusions and
    a sharp reduction of the sagging of the weld penetration.
