IMPROVING THE FORMATION AND QUALITY
OF WELDED JOINTS OF ALUMINUM ALLOYS IN
TIG WELDING WITH FLUX TAPE
The technology of fusion welding of products
and structures made of aluminum alloys with a
thickness of more than 3 mm is characterized
by high labor intensity, low productivity and the
presence of various defects in the welds (pores,
lack of fusion, oxide inclusions and poor formation
of welds). According to the existing technology in
shipbuilding [1], welding of most products made of
aluminum alloys with a thickness of more than 3 mm
is carried out by weight in several passes (two or
more), and before welding, grooving of the welded
edges for welding with V, Y, X-shaped grooves is
regulated depending on the thickness of the welded
metal. To obtain a high-quality formation of a weld,
an increase in the share of participation is required
filler metal, which, in turn, contributes to an increase
in the number of defects in the weld in the form of
pores and oxide inclusions.
