3. Vertical gear hobbing machines of sizes D2000… D12500 mm can be designed with direct
drives of work pieces on the basis of special compound segment-shaped motors. Horizontal
gear hobbing machines of sizes D500… D1250 mm can be designed with direct drives of work
pieces on existing motors. For the drives of the cutter specified in clause 3 of the machines, the
currently produced motors do not provide the required torque, and it is necessary to install an
additional reduction gear.
