        9. Recertification Information

Medicaid eligibility is not permanent. You must complete periodic recertifications (also called

redeterminations or renewals) to continue receiving benefits.

        What to Expect
Annual Redetermination: Generally, Medicaid eligibility is reviewed annually, though the

schedule may vary based upon Medicaid’s determination and complexity status of your
             approval.
Advance Notice: DCF will send a notice approximately 45 days before your renewal date

             with instructions.
Automatic Renewals: In some cases, especially for SSI recipients or those whose sole
income is Social Security, DCF may automatically renew your eligibility without requiring
             action from you.

        Your Responsibilities
Watch for Mail: Keep your mailing address current and watch for renewal notices from

             DCF.
Respond Promptly: If you receive a request for information, respond by the deadline to
             avoid interruption in benefits.
Provide Requested Documentation: You may need to provide updated information about
             income, assets, or living situation.

Use MyACCESS: You can often complete renewals online at myaccess.myflfamilies.com.

Missing a recertification deadline can result in termination of your Medicaid benefits. If

you have not received a renewal notice when expected, contact DCF proactively.
