was to give a try for having a little more ease in the fee
structure by requesting a TA-ship during the first semester.
Obviously, my brother being the only earning member,
makes it a little difficult to pay the fees even after a 50% merit
scholarship since there were many bricks yet to be laid. A
brick of my brother’s wedding, a brick of buying a car, a brick
of painting the house, a brick of having braces for myself and
so and so. These were the thoughts I left my house with on
the day of the meeting with Dr. Shahid and all along I was
constantly practicing how I had to begin the conversation.
From those 15 minutes on Careem to the time I entered LSE, I
had planned for hundreds of situations and how to deal with
each one of them if anything goes wrong and I continued
doing so when finally I was standing in front of Dr. Shahid’s
office. Every contingency plan had left me all alone, I was
shaking with the only thought that this is another challenge I
have in life, no matter what, I have to win this! After waiting
for a while in the lobby Dr. Shahid came and the challenge
