Clients can be merged but it is a function that is currently not available in the user interface and has to be
done by Provet support. Client merging should be done when duplicate clients exists. In the case of for
example divorced couples new clients can be created. Patients can then be transferred to the correct person.
This will maintain an audit trail for old invoices.
Forget a client (GDPR)
Forget a client function exists for GDPR purposes. Forgetting a client means that the client’s personal details
are wiped from the database. Forgetting/deleting a client is not always possible as some other legislation
might prevent it. For example invoicing data and treatment data must be kept for a set period. Settings exists
for this which allow to define the minimum time for maintaining the records for invoicing and treatment data.
The client may be deleted/forgotten by users with sufficient permission level. The deletion is performed on
the database level and the client references will be anonymised. This means that invoices are not deleted but
the client information on an invoice would be anonymized due to the client being deleted.
It is possible to define the data retention period in the settings. These settings automatically block a deletion
of a client.
