In the future you will probably need to add a new venue so select the ‘Add New
Venue’ option line and you will be presented with the following screen.
Complete as much as you can on this screen as all the data will be used. Later,
when you call up the venue for a specific meeting or group event, you will be able
to see how this data has been used.
In edit mode you may notice the blue banner saying “This place holder shows
where the venue information will be shown”. This message will also appear (on
different colour backgrounds) when certain other blocks are created. I cover
their use later in the workbook.
Note that it is possible for two different people to create the same venue to use
in a different way. This flexibility would allow, for example, two group leaders to
each create a page called 'Museum Visit' with different content and it would not
be a problem.
Self-Check: u3a Venues
Try this out for yourself and add a new venue that you use in your u3a. Using the
description above select the new venue option, complete the data entry, and
then publish your data. Return to your u3a Venues menu and check that your
new venue is now on the list. You will use this venue later when you create a new
group.
