TRIP

TO

GORKHA

Grade 5 went to Gorkha on 10th December 2022. It was an overnight trip which was
really fun. We came to school and our parents dropped us off at the front gate and we headed into
the bus. We waved goodbye to our parents and waited for more students. Both the sections were
going, one section in one bus. When all the students arrived, (except a few students who did not
come on the trip) we headed off on the way to Gorkha.

On the bus, we had so much fun! We played, talked and ate the snacks we had packed,
which were two apples and two juice boxes. I had also packed biscuits which I ate later on. After
2 to 3 hours, we stopped at the lunch area, which was Barasinghe, where my bestie and I had to
wait in a long line for the buffet because we were taking pictures and were not in the line. But the
lunch was really good. We had rice, lentils, potatoes, noodles and a lot of yummy food. I liked the
noodles and the papad. After lunch, we went to the washroom, took more pictures and went back
to the bus. We had a very long trip to Gorkha but it was so much fun with our friends as we got
to chat, play games and eat our snacks together. We took toilet breaks and a few stops on the ride.
Finally, we reached Gorkha and went to the hotel. There, we ate snacks which were litchi juice and
potato cracker chips which were good.

Then, we took a short walk to the Gorkha Museum. We were divided into groups and we
walked accordingly. Later, we reached the hotel and changed our clothes. I wore my nightdress.
The hotel room was good too. My roommates were Lina and my bestie Abja. When we were on
the walk, we had to collect leaves, rocks and other stuff which were used later to prepare a skit ac-
cording to the groups. It was really fun. Then, we had dinner. After dinner, we had a campfire and
ate roasted marshmallows which were great! We danced and played tag which was fun too. Then,
finally, we said good night and headed to our rooms. Then, we brushed our teeth and slept.

The next morning, we woke up at 5, got dressed, packed our bags, wore our shoes, brushed
our teeth and hair, and then headed to Prithvi Narayan Shah’s palace on the bus. Before the walk,
we had already packed our stuff and got everything we needed to go because after we came back
from the walk, we had to eat breakfast and leave immediately. When we reached Gorkha Durbar,
we had to walk to get to the main palace, which was on top of a hill. During the walk, we ate our
apples and juices. We then headed back to the hotel and ate a delicious breakfast of chocolate milk
and other yummy food too!

After breakfast, we got on the bus and headed out to Kathmandu. We had fun playing
games in our copies and games which we just found out about with our friends. We stopped for
lunch which was really good too! Then, we ate snacks after a few hours. After that, we were back
on our way. We stopped for toilet breaks a few times and finally, after a long ride, we reached
Kathmandu and then our school. We reached at around 6 in the evening. I went with my bestie’s
parents to Dhokaima cafe, where we ate cakes. Finally, my parents came to pick me up and we
reached home where I told my family about what happened on the Gorkha trip. The Gorkha over-
night trip was really really fun!
