                   Microorganisms  as  fungi  and  bacteria  can  be  detected  under

                   the microscope.




                    How to differ between urine specimen contamination and real

                                                      infection?




                   •  The  presence  of  numerous  squamous  cells  can  indicate


                       genital source of bacteria.

                   •  the presence of bacteria with few leukocytes maybe due to


                       use of old specimen.


                   •  Positive  nitrite  test  and/or  leukoesterase  indicates  real

                       bacterial infection.
