Urine Report (Interpretation with Examples)
Urine report consists of 3
parts:
Physical examination.
Chemical examination.
Microscopic
examination.
➢ How to read the report?
It is important to look at the patient’s history, symptoms and
all parts of the report as one piece then find the best scenario
that that is consistent with the case.
➢ For example:
• The epithelial cell indicates urinary tract injury.
• This patient has reddish yellow urine, this can be explained
by the presence of RBCs.
• Note that it is RBCs cells NOT casts, so usually they are not
from tubular origin, further analysis is needed to identify the
origin.
