Y: What do you remember from the
First Lebanon War?
C: It was a relatively light but long war. I
remember when we arrived in Beirut; it
was a very beautiful city, everything was
green, full of water, and I even traveled
with one of my officers for a walk and we
arrived at a special wax museum. That's
where we first saw delicious yellow and
pink cherries. We also saw amazing
cedar trees. The Lebanese method was
to stretch a thin piece of iron from
window to a window that was difficult to
see,so the person sitting on the tank
would not notice and be clotheslined.
We lost some friends like that.
Y: What do you remember from the
Gulf War?
C: We were shocked that Saddam
Hussein was thinking of bombing us with
chemical weapons, so the army wanted
to deploy our brigade to Iraq. We
readied all the appropriate equipment
and prepared for the flight, until the last
minute the United States did not approve
the operation. I was
