We do not use plastic tableware in our restaurant; it avoids plastic pollution and
environmental degradation.
We print paper on demand; our print paper is managed centrally through the entire building.
All stock is considered before ordering. This is an outsourced process, so we only purchase
printing paper when there is insufficient stock in the entire building.
Social Impact
Community development: our colleagues Malika and Mazlifa are employed through an
apprenticeship company called Rijnvicus in Alphen aan den Rijn. This company creates
workplaces for people who have low education or have never graduated.
Human rights: Facility managers are women in leadership positions; this promotes
fairness, equality and respect.
Health: we invest in employee wellbeing by promoting healthy lunches, fruit snacks and
walking meetings.
Economic Impact
Economic sustainability can refer either to the continued success of an economy over time, or
more recently to the way an economy operates in a sustainable manner, protecting social and
environmental elements. This interaction between the environment, society and the economy
occur at all levels. From the global economy, right down to our company.
We respect all colleagues by valuing opinions and treating each other equally. We
promote equality and ethics in and out our premises.
We operate with transparency. Openness creates trust and leads to a successful
organization.
We work with sustainable growth in mind by using our resources efficiently and
responsibly, so that it can operate in a sustainable manner to consistently produce an
operational profit.
Facility vendors
We buy from local businesses, preferably from green-focused vendors. We made a list of a few
of those vendors, and their sustainable actions.
Fruitful Office - fruit vendor.
Fruitful Office plants 1 tree in Malawi for every fruit basket Sakura consumes.
On average, this means that 80 trees were planted per quarter on behalf of Sakura.
Fruitful Office also creates workplaces for young people who have chronic diseases or
physical disability.
