120 The Unforgettable Moments in Life
The Swing and The Tree
By Kobe Mojilong
On Easter, when she was in 5th grade, she
had a metal swing in their backyard. They
would attach it to a tree. She and her
brothers would go there after school and
play on it. Her parents would always tell
her not to ride the swing because it was a
baby swing. She might get hurt because it
was too small for her. She didn’t listen to them and just rode in it anyway.
One day, she and her brothers were playing in their backyard. They were digging holes in
the ground, and they would grab apples and throw them at each other's holes. They would build
forts and connect them throughout the neighborhood. Eventually, she started swinging, but this
time the swing couldn’t hold her, so she fell with the swing and the tree fell with it too! The tree
CAME CRASHING DOWN and her brothers all ran away. The tree was all around her, but it
somehow missed her body. The blue seatbelt was locked, so she couldn't get out. She was
literally stuck in a Little Tikes’ baby swing and her brothers thought that was hilarious. It took
forever until her parents looked outside. The kitchen window looked out to the backyard and
they finally noticed because her brothers were teasing her. They were trying to get her to stand
up and walk around while she was still attached to the swing. Eventually, her parents came out to
help her, but when she looked back at their faces, they seemed mad because she didn't listen to
them.
