96 The Unforgettable Moments in Life

Jimmy and the AC Unit

Jimmy is a 6 ft. male with short, black, curly hair; some people call it waves. Jimmy is

around 250 pounds and walks around with his head held high. He can be cranky at times, but he

doesn't like expressing his feelings. This story takes place in the small town of Dumas, Arkansas.

Dumas has a population of 3,886 with lots of shade trees, grassy areas, and dust flying around; at

times this small town has lots of black-owned restaurants.

Once when Jimmy was younger, he loved playing outside with his friends and brother. His

mom didn't want him playing outside when she wasn’t home, but he did on this one particular

day. He really wanted to play outside with all of his friends, but Jimmy’s mom was at work. He

went anyways like he had done a few times before. Nothing had happened until this one day.

Jimmy and his friends were playing football and Jimmy ran into an AC unit and cut his head

open. There was blood and guts all over the AC Unit. From the back of his house, you could hear

screaming. There was blood and tears. One of his friends ran home and got his mom. The mom

ran down to Jimmy’s house and called an ambulance. Jimmy's mom still didn't come home from

work; she waited until she got off of work to go to the hospital to see what had happened to her

son.
