               house area constitutes circa 30% ((128/420)*100) of the total floor area of the store, i.e. less

               than a 1/3. Subsequently, the back-of-house area can be seen as ancillary to the main use
               of the store, because only one of the above conditions applies. Fire separation is thereby not

               required between FoH and BoH in the model store design as shown below.

               The figure below shows the same model store layout with increased back of house area
               representing 150m2 of the total floor area of 420m2. In this instance the total floor area is

               greater than 280m2, and the back of house area is greater than 1/3 of the total floor area,
               therefore the back of house area cannot be viewed as ancillary to the retail space and

               therefore be fire separated from the retail space with a 60 minute compartment wall,

               including a FD60 fire door.
