Reference Guide Fire Strategy

1.1 Introduction and Scope

This CAN (consultant advice note) has been produced to outline the exemplar fire safety

strategy for the model design as per the information described in the Sources of Information
section below. The guidance within this report does not provide the only route to compliance
and any deviation from the model design assessed or from the recommendations presented

within this report should be assessed by a suitably qualified engineer.

Sources of Information

The following sources of information have been assessed:

• Model Store Design Manual Version 2.0 – Rev C; 19-4-19.

It is noted that this is an indicative plan and that this drawing will not necessarily reflect the
conditions of buildings across the portfolio. As this is an exemplar Outline Fire Strategy,
applicable assumptions have been made with regard to use and siting of adjacent/ancillary

areas.

The general arrangement of the model store design is shown in the figure below.
