mindful that shouting, loud talk, gossiping, coarse language, swearing
or instigating rough physical contact may be perceived as abusive or
disrespectful.
• It is vital that all volunteers adhere STRICTLY to the tasks issued in
your role description and your event briefing session.
• Keep personal opinions and actions separate from those made as a
representative of The Event volunteer Programme Event Volunteer.
• Remember you are part of a TEAM, your team members should be
treated with respect and consideration.
• Remember to be prompt and punctual; if you are unpunctual this can
affect the rest of your team and the event.
Dealing with issues
• If a problem arises during your volunteer activity, please speak to
your Team Leader a member of staff as soon as possible. As a
volunteer some tasks and situations may take you out of the
boundaries of the role that you are providing. However, be open
to new experiences and challenges. It will be important to be
aware of your boundaries. Do not act independently or
impulsively, remember you are part of a team.
• Do not release any confidential information; you may have
contact details of other team members or you may be collect
information from members of the public. Remember their details
are confidential and you must maintain confidentiality.
