Person Specification - Events Volunteer

To be eligible you must:

• Be aged 16 or over before you start volunteering.
• Be a Greenwich Borough resident or from the surrounding area
• Be available on an occasional basis. Most events will take place
during weekends, public holidays or evenings. Volunteer shifts
tend to last 4-5 hours.
• Attend an initial training session on event volunteering and short
briefing sessions prior to individual events.

Skills, Abilities and Attitudes Needed:

• Interested in helping to deliver cultural events in the Royal
Borough of Greenwich
• Friendly, polite and approachable
• Good communication skills and the ability to converse in English*
• Enjoy engaging with members of the public
• Value diversity and inclusion
• Flexible and willing to help with a variety of tasks
• Punctual and reliable
• Able to follow clear instructions, seeking advice and support as
needed
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Have some local knowledge of Greenwich

* We are keen to attract diverse volunteers from all communities. The
ability to speak a community language, in addition to some English,
would be very welcome, but is not essential.
