Clinton County Athletic Conference
The Clinton County Athletic Conference was formed in 1935 by teams from Clinton County. The conference
will operate through the 1958-59 school year. The members schools will also take part in the Clinton County
Tournament through the 1958-59 season that is hosted at Howard Hall in Frankfort. Rossville will participate in the
Clinton County Tournament on a sporadic basis, while Frankfort is never a member of the conference or the
tournament.

a. The Clinton County Tournament was generally held in mid-January @ Howard Hall in Frankfort.
b. Frankfort never participated in the tournament.
c. The 1932 tournament was called the “Frankfort Tri-County Tournament” & included teams from Clinton,
Boone, & Tipton counties. Prairie Twp. (Tipton County) won the tournament by beating Colfax.
Clinton County Athletic Conference Timeline
1935: The Clinton County Athletic Conference is formed.
Membership: Colfax, Forest, Jackson Twp., Kirklin, Michigantown, Mulberry, Rossville, Scircleville,
Sugar Creek Twp., Washington Twp.
1947: Rossville withdrawals from the CCAC to join the Hoosier Conference.
1959: Forest, Kirklin, Michigantown, Scircleville, & Sugar Creek Twp. consolidate to form Clinton Central. The
CCAC ceases to exist & the Clinton County Tournament ends after the 1958-59 season.
1961: Colfax, Jackson Twp., Mulberry, & Washington Twp. consolidate to form Clinton Prairie.
