Hoosier Heartland Conference

The 1989-90 school year marked the formation of the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
Clinton Prairie, Clinton Central, Rossville, & Tri-Central were the founding members.

Carroll & Delphi will join the conference in 1992, w/ Lafayette Central Catholic joining in
1993. LCC will leave the conference after the 2011-12 school year, w/ Sheridan replacing
them starting w/ the 2012-13 school year. The conference will later add Eastern (Greentown),
Frontier, Taylor, & Tri-County at the beginning of the 2015-16 school year. Frontier &
Tri-County left the HHC after the 2016-17 school year. Delphi will re-join the conference in
the 2019-20 school year. With the exception of 2016 & 2017, the conference has played a
“round-robin” schedule to crown the league champion. In 2016 & 2017 a seeded conference
tournament was played to determine a champion.
Hoosier Heartland Timeline
1989: The Hoosier Heartland Conference is formed.
Membership: Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie, Rossville, Tri-Central
1992: Carroll & Delphi join the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
1993: Lafayette Central Catholic joins the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
1998: Delphi withdrawals from the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
2012: Lafayette Central Catholic withdrawals from the Hoosier Heartland Conference & Sheridan joins the Hoosier
Heartland Conference.
2015: Eastern, Frontier, Taylor, & Tri-County join the Hoosier Heartland Conference. The conference adopts
divisional play for certain sports & conducts a conference tournament in basketball.
2017: Frontier & Tri-County withdrawal from the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
2018: Delphi re-joins the Hoosier Heartland Conference & will begin conference participation in the 2019-20 school
year.

Taylor, Tri-Central
