1943: LaCrosse is admitted to the Kankakee Valley.
1947: St. Joseph’s Prep closes & is removed the Kankakee Valley Conference.
1949: LaCrosse drops out of the Kankakee Valley to re-join the LaPorte County Conference.
1954: Morocco leaves the Kankakee Valley to join the Northern State Conference.
1955: Brook, Kentland, & Monon withdrawal from the KVC to join the Midwest Conference. Remington
withdrawals from the KVC to join the Prairie Conference.
1956: Goodland leaves the KVC to join the Prairie Conference.
1957: Hamlet drops out of the KVC to join the Tippecanoe Valley Conference.
1958: Morocco re-joins the Kankakee Valley Conference.
1959: San Pierre withdrawals from the KVC to join the Tippecanoe Valley Conference, while Kouts leaves to join
the Porter County Conference.
1965: Fair Oaks consolidates into DeMotte. Tefft consolidates into Wheatfield.
1967: DeMotte & Wheatfield leave the KVC for the Midwest Conference. Hebron withdrawals from the KVC to join
the Porter County Conference. Morocco & Mount Ayr close as part of the consolidation that forms North
Newton. The KVC disbands after the 1966-67 school year.
Mid-Central Conference
The Mid-Central Conference began competition during the 1966-67 school year.
Mid-Central Timeline
1966: The Mid-Central Conference is formed.
Membership: Battle Ground, Carroll, Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie, East Tipp, Southwestern,
Thorntown, Wainwright
1970: Battle Ground & East Tipp close & are part of the consolidation that forms Harrison.
1974: Thorntown closes & is part of the consolidation that forms Western Boone.
1975: Southwestern & Wainwright close as part of the consolidation that forms McCutcheon. This causes the
Mid-Central Conference to disband.
