Montgomery County Athletic Conference
The Montgomery County Athletic Conference was formed in 1935 by teams from Montgomery County. The
conference will operate through the 1965-66 school year. The Montgomery County Tournament will operate
annually from 1931-71. Crawfordsville will not be involved in either the conference or the county tournament. The
county tournament will be played at the Crawfordsville H.S. Gym throughout its existence.

Montgomery County Athletic Conference Timeline
1935: The Montgomery County Athletic Conference is formed.
Membership: Alamo, Bowers, Darlington, Ladoga, Linden, New Market, New Richmond,
New Ross, Waveland, Waynetown, Wingate
1954: New Richmond & Wingate consolidate to form Coal Creek Central. Coal Creek Central will maintain
membership in the MCC.
1955: Bowers will close & send their students to Linden for one year. Ladoga & New Market leave the MCC to join
the Big Four Conference.
1956: Bowers students begin attending Darlington.
1964: Coal Creek Central leaves the MCC to join the WRC. Waveland drops out of the MCC to join the Big Four.
1966: Alamo, Darlington, Linden, New Ross, & Waynetown leave the MCC to join the Big Four. The MCC is
disbanded, but the county tournament will continue through 1971.
