conferences.

Jasper County Athletic Conference
The Jasper County Athletic Conference was formed in 1930 by teams from Jasper County. The conference
will operate through the 1932-33 school year. The conference will then merge w/ the Newton County Conference to
form the Kankakee Valley Conference.

1930: The Jasper County Athletic Conference is formed.
Membership: Demotte, Fair Oaks, Hanging Grove, Remington, Rensselaer, Teff, Wheatfield
1932: Remington & Rensselaer leave the JCC to join the Midwest Conference.
1933: DeMotte, Fair Oaks, Hanging Grove, Tefft, & Wheatfield merge w/ the Newton County schools to form the
Kankakee Valley Conference.
Kankakee Valley Conference
The Kankakee Valley Conference (also known as the Kankakee Valley Athletic Association) was formed as a
merger of the Jasper County & Newton County conferences in 1933.

1933: The Kankakee Valley Conference is formed by merging the Newton County & Jasper County conferences.
Membership: Brook, DeMotte, Fair Oaks, Goodland, Hanging Grove, Hebron, Kentland, Kouts,
Monon, Morocco, Mount Ayr, Remington, Tefft, Wheatfield
1935: Hamlet & San Pierre join the Kankakee Valley Conference.
1939: Hanging Grove closes & consolidates into Rensselaer.
1942: St. Joseph’s Prep (Rensselaer) joins the Kankakee Valley.
