Fountain County Athletic Conference
The Fountain County Athletic Conference was formed in 1919 by teams from Fountain County. The
conference will operate through the 1964-65 school year. The members schools will also take part in the Fountain
County Tournament. The Fountain County Tournament rotated host sites between Attica, Covington, & Veedersburg.

a. The Fountain County Tournament was generally held in mid-January. Attica, Covington, & Veedersburg
rotated as host sites.
b. From 1954-64 there will not be a formal Fountain County Tournament. The Fountain County schools will
participate in the Wabash Valley Tournament & will be an area “Prelim” site.
Fountain County Athletic Conference Timeline
1919: The Fountain County Athletic Conference is formed.
Membership: Attica, Covington, Hillsboro, Kingman, Mellott, Newtown, Veedersburg, Wallace
1932: Attica leaves the FCAC to join the Midwest Conference.
1943: Mellott & Newtown consolidate to form Richland Twp.
1964: Wallace consolidates into the existing Hillsboro H.S.
1965: Hillsboro, Kingman, Richland Twp., & Veedersburg consolidate to form Fountain Central.
