ROTARY COIMBATORE HERITAGE

We started the day by Inaugurating their project at the PHC, Irugur. They have provided 3
JAN benches and a 8 shaped Walking track for the Antenatal women, a really very useful facility. We
31 also inaugurated the Herbal Garden there. They spent a total of 1 lakh for these project. We then
moved on to their Signature Project – ‘Akshayama‘, a micro credit program with Shanthi Asharam
to help women entrepreneurs especially in the food industry. 5 identified beneficiaries received
their support that day. We also inaugurated their other project of supporting single mothers and
destitute mothers by giving them multi grain food weekly once. Had the opportunity of visiting
their previous Global Grant Projects – ‘HOW’, Hospital on Wheels which goes to the most rural
areas and screens mal- nutritional children - vitamins and nutritional items are distributed to
those childrens. We also visited their other Global Grant Project, ICPH – International Centre
for Pediatric Care at Kovaipudur specializing in mother and Child Care. The well attended Club
assembly was very interactive and purposeful. The Evening function was celebration time –
Charter day Celebration. Must Congratulate President Vignesh and Secretary Raja Palaniappan
along with Team Heritage for the fabulous work they have done, especially in the medical field –
donation of Oxygen Concentrators, support for heart and kidney surgeries, artificial limb camp,
supporting their adopted school and students and I am sure they will continue to do the great
work they have been doing.
