                                                   African American Author, Arynetta Floyzelle, created the character Effie

                                                   Monroe and developed a customized interactive video activity for the North
             August 8th       Education            Texas Chapter to teach our kids about National Parks and the science behind
                11am          [STE(A)M]            Volcanos.  In this  STE(A)M activity the children took a virtual tour of a national
              Via Zoom                             park and learned about volcanic eruptions, lava and the various gasses expelled

                              Social/Recreational   through animated skits, interactive games, and discussion.  They also learn about
                                                   the global impacts of volcanos on the climate and contribution to mass
                                                   extinction.
                                                   Jack and Jill Day/Carole Robertson Day
                                                   Our celebration of Carole Robertson was a weeklong event culminating with a
                                                   family scavenger hunt. Our goal was to facilitate family activities and
                                                   discussions throughout the week on the life of Carole Robertson and the many
                                                   sacrifices made by those that have come before us in the fight for justice and
                                                   equality.

                                                   We distributed swag bags to each family that included the following to help

           September 26th                          Remembering Carole Robertson coloring book and discussion questions, stained

                              Social/Recreational   Saturday morning (Jack and Jill Day) from 8am-12pm.  Some of the 14

                                                   scavenger hunt missions\activities included family photos with Personal
                                                   Protective Equipment (PPE), photos in front of a Jack and Jill Day sign, and
                                                   photos of donations made to local charities.  Jack and Jill Day culminated with a
                                                   20-minute zoom meeting where we watched a tribute to Carole Robertson,
                                                   announced the winners of the family scavenger hunt, and provided a video
                                                   collage of the week’s activities. The North Texas Chapter was able to combine
                                                   family fun, Jack and Jill history and pride, and community service all in honor of
                                                   Carole Robertson.
                                                   The Great Debate/Rock the Vote
                                                   Our objective is to educate the spurs and Chili Peppers on the different
                                                   responsibilities of the local, state and federal government.  There will be

                              Civic/Legislative    Each kid will spend time researching and participating in a head to head debate
                                                   and rebuttal. After each debate there will be a mock vote on the issue. The kids
                                                   will learn how government works and how to research, debate and vote on issues
                                                   important to them.
                                                   Virtual Cooking Class/Competition

           November 14th      Chelle Wilson        A chef will provide a healthy virtual cooking workshop for the kids and the
                2pm                                moms. Each participant will be required to purchase the ingredients beforehand.
              Via Zoom        Education            The children will learn how to read recipes, measure and cook healthy food
                                                   through this activity. The goal is to reinforce healthy eating habits by educating
