PART OF SPEECH
A. Definition of Part of Speech
Part of Speech refers to the categories of words according to their function and
role in a sentence. Each word in English belongs to a specific part of speech based on
how it is used. Understanding the parts of speech helps learners construct grammatically
correct sentences and analyze sentence structure effectively.
B. Main Parts of Speech
1. Noun
A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns can
function as the subject or object of a sentence.
