                       The English Reading and writing course have a logical progression from the beginning to the
               intermediate to the advanced to the college preparatory level. The beginning, intermediate, and advanced
               levels focus on developing fundamental English skills. Coursework emphasizes skills that are necessary for
               developing effective reading and writing. Instruction at this level covers the study of vocabulary, language
               structures, and essential elements in the development of the two language skills in reading and writing.
               Writing  exercises  emphasize  sentence  structure,  paragraph  organization,  and  usage  of  formal  English
               grammar. This course emphasizes the continued acquisition of reading skills needed for college level
               courses,  expansion  of  high  frequency to  extensive  vocabulary,  and  comprehension  of  medium-length
               adapted reading selections. Reading exercises focus on comprehension, vocabulary development, and study
               skills. It also targets the refinement of study skills and the development of critical thinking and research
               skills.


                       The teaching procedures introduced in this course focus on the language learning process; lectures
               by the teacher; collaborative learning groups; student-led facilitation of topics; online learning; games; and
               activities in order to allow students to develop themselves to their highest potentiality. By using the process
               of thinking capacity, communication capacity, problem-solving capacity and capacity for applying life skills,
               the students improve themselves and become better generally. The students would develop vital skills in
               analysis, problem-solving by going through the processes of developing the knowledge acquired with the
               lesson and use these skills in daily life situations and develop their thinking skills towards the 21st
               century.


                        The course also enables students to instill the desirable characteristics, including love  of nation,
               religion and king, honesty  and integrity, self -discipline, avidity  for learning, observe  of principles of
               Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in one’s way of life, dedication  and commitment to work, cherishing Thai-
               ness, public mindedness and be healthy and well-balanced.

                Learning Outcomes


                   1.   Demonstrate understanding of the main features of texts structure of each genre and text type
                      studied.
                   2.  Learn about cause-and-effect and introductory paragraphs.
                   3.  Learn about suggestions and process paragraphs.
                   4.  Read a limited range of extended fiction and non-fiction texts, on familiar and some unfamiliar
                      general and curricular topics, with confidence and enjoyment
                   5.  Learn about classification and concluding paragraphs.
                   6.  Write an article about good and bad job interview tips.
                   7.  Learn about comparison-contrast paragraphs.
                   8.  Demonstrate understanding of written texts, and of the words and phrases within them.
                   9.  Brainstorm, plan and draft written work at text level, with limited support, on a range of general
                      and curricular topics.
