results.
I have rebuilt and developed Teams on several occasions versus tweaking or supplementing additional talent. I
took over a team that was seeing 40% turnover and after 9 months I reduced that to zero and it stayed there till I
transitioned to Group Role
My philosophy is to adapt quickly, learn quickly, adjust as required and provide guidance, coaching and leadership at
the requisite amount, provide the Team the latitude to manage themselves
Successes/Achievements
Outsourcing of Fabrication Facility – 450 employees
Primary focus was on the outsourcing of machine and sheet metal details
Developed and Deployed regional supply chain management to ensure effective results reduced operating costs
by 15%.
Supplier Acquisition and Relocation
Primary gear supplier was acquired and moved to new location while continuing production; participated on
acquisition team, planning team and transition team in Chicago – Gear Supplier was critical to Internal &
External Customers due to component lead time – Implemented seed stock program on raw material to reduce
overall lead time by 50%; cost avoidance of $35M if planned failed.
Program Transfer
Moved major section assembly from San Diego, CA to Philadelphia, PA; while maintaining production schedule;
Co-lead Team with counter parts in Mesa, AZ – Apache Program Customer was not satisfied with any aspect of
performance by Supplier – Program was reengineered, transferred to an internal Site, implemented aggressive
quality (75% to 95%) & cost reduction 20% – Regained credibility and Customer confidence within 12 months
3PL Development and Deployment
Developed strategy, plan and deployment of first 3PL within the Boeing Co in Philadelphia.
Was lead in St. Louis to assist with their 3PL Strategy development and planning.
Interfaced and coordinated strategy and deployment plan with DOD Customer and Local Government Officials
due to local economic impact. Total savings $75M over 6 years
Site Turnaround
As part of Site Leadership Team; lead restructuring & transitioning a Site that was slated to be closed, losing
$80M/yr., to turning double-digit operating margins in 3 years. Achieved highest margin of all commercial and
defense groups.
Supplier Management & Procurement Procedure Standardization and Consolidation
After merger took place between Boeing and MacDonald Douglas, I was assigned to a corporate team to
integrate Seattle, St. Louis, Philadelphia and California; to address the effectiveness of existing policies and
procedures with SM&P across all Internal Program Customers.
Supply Chain Management Strategy and Lean Deployment
Responsible for the integrated strategic planning and deployment of new processes, systems, E-Procurement
and structure at Huntington Beach, CA Mesa, AZ Site and Philadelphia, PA Site for Supply Chain Management
within Boeing Defense.
