What is your current responsibility and where are you situated in the organization? To whom do you report and
who reports to you?
In transition presently, last role was Managing Director in Procurement & Supply Chain leading the merger strategy
and integration of the two supply chain organizations (US Airways and American Airlines). Led strategy
development for consolidation of supplier base, capture of synergy savings and migration of e-Procurement
systems. Reported initially to VP (top procurement officer) then after retirement and reorg to fellow Managing
Director with dotted line to Chief Integration Officer. Led team of 4 dedicated to integration and pulled from team
of 100 commodity managers and managers as needed depending on initiative. Largest team led was 25 to 35
internal and contract employees managing aircraft programs.
How deep is your Supply Chain experience? Have you functioned as the lead supply chain officer in a division or
a company? If so, what functions were your responsibilities? Have you ever created a supply chain process?
- Broad and deep supply chain experience. Led teams responsible for procurement and supply chain performance
covering all major categories of spend to support commercial airline operations and corporate services.
- I trained and developed procurement talent using the 7 step sourcing process, which can be adopted in whole or
modified to enhance any procurement process.
- I created a supply chain map template to identify supplier’s cost, lead time and steps to manufacture goods or
deliver a service. The supply chain maps were designed to be incorporated into commodity (good or service)
strategy process to fully understand supply chain inefficiencies.
- Co-developed training guide to lead procurement/supply chain effort supporting aircraft programs (new delivery
aircraft or retrofit) through initiative conception, design/build, and production with timely component or assembly
delivery to Boeing, Airbus or MRO base.
