he is a priest-king. He is a priest, “a minister

of the sanctuary;” but at the same time he is

“on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty

in the heavens.” Hebrews 8:1, 2. This position

and work of our Lord was thus predicted by

the prophet Zechariah: “And speak unto him,

saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts [God],

saying, Behold the man whose name is the

Branch [Christ]; and he shall grow up out of

his place, and he shall build the temple of the

Lord. ... And he [Christ] shall sit and rule upon

his [God’s] throne; and he [Christ] shall be a

priest upon his [God’s] throne; and the

counsel of peace [in the sacrifice and priestly

work of Christ in behalf of repenting man]

shall be between them both.” Zechariah 6:12,
