804: A New Hope for Future Generations of Learners
The year 2020 made an indelible mark on education. The Educational Services Cooperative, Inc. &
abrupt transition to online learning challenged educators and Carrie O’Brien - Gust Rosenfeld
students to keep pace with curriculum, shed light on the in-
equality of school and student resources and prompted edu-
cators to envision a new future for learning. While educators
explore the role of hybrid & remote learning, address social
justice issues, and prioritize the health and wellbeing of stu-
dents and teachers, architects have a responsibility to join
them in developing solutions, many of which will directly im-
pact the design of school facilities. The response of educators
and designers to these disruptors and opportunities is a legacy
they will leave to current students and future generations.
