in Figure 6.3. A colleague, Mr Shimboyo (in shorts), is at the centre while I am
on the right (with reading glasses) and there are two hired local men.

Another photograph taken during the collection of soil samples in
Swakopmund is shown in Figure 6.3(b). On the extreme left is Mr S. Sitoka (a
former colleague), followed by myself and by Mr Shimboyo (wearing a
cap), while a hired local hand (wearing a white shoe) is on the extreme
right.
