                              seven (7), the Board is empowered to appoint other members so that the
                              requirement of seven (7) will be maintained. Such appointments will also be
                              considered temporary until the next General Meeting, at which they will either
                              be made permanent or other members will be chosen in their place.
                          7.  Board meetings will occur a minimum of every other month. Board members will
                              receive from the Chair: notice of meetings, an agenda and minutes of the
                              previous meeting, no less than two weeks prior to the meeting. Zoom
                              participation at Board meetings is acceptable.
                          8.  Decisions of the Board shall be approved by a simple majority of those present,
                              unless otherwise specified in the By-Laws for certain types of decisions.
                          9.  A Board member will cease to serve in this role should he/she cease to be a
                              member of the Amutah.
                          10. Any board member who does not attend a minimum of three (3) meetings in a
                              twelve (12) month period shall be replaced.
                       b)  The Roles and Responsibilities of the Board:
                          1.  To conduct all matters of the Amutah and to promote to the best of its ability
                              the realization of the Amutah objectives.
                          2.  To set from time to time membership dues either annually or for a more limited
                              time, according to the needs of the Amutah. Married couples who are both
                              members shall pay twice the amount of dues; single individuals will pay the
                              regular amount of dues. Under special circumstances, the Board has the
                              authority to reduce the amount that a particular individual must pay in dues.
                          3.  To set from time to time the cost of non-member seats for the High Holy Days,
                              according to the needs of the Amutah, as long as such cost will be considered
                              reasonable and proper.
                          4.  The Chair will appoint the heads of the various Standing Committees. In addition,
                              as specific issues may arise, the Chair will establish Ad Hoc Committees and
                              appoint their heads.
                          5.  Standing Committees of the Amutah are:
                                - Audit Committee
                                - Budget and Finance
                                - Maintenance and Upkeep
                                - Educational and Social Activities
                                - Hesed and Social Action
                                - Religious Activities
                                - Membership and Publicity
                          6.  To ensure the smooth running of the Amutah, to appoint individuals who will
                              serve voluntarily or to hire workers for pay, for varying lengths of time, subject
                              to the supervision and evaluation of the Board.
