PHASE 2
Phase 2 – Future - Construction Phase Services for Dennis House Reconstruction
SCOPE
The final scope of work and duration of the construction period for the Dennis House
Restoration will not be known until the DFCLT has completed its fundraising efforts and
determines when it plans to proceed with construction. At this time Bernardon proposes to
provide the construction phase services on an hourly basis as requested by the DFCLT.
Typical services provided by the Design Team during the construction phase include bidding,
contract award, and construction phase services, as described below.
2.1 BIDDING AND AWARD SERVICES:
A. Prepare Bidding Packages: In consultation with the DFCLT, the Design Team will
prepare the bid package for competitive bidding. The Design Team will prepare sets of
the drawings and specifications for bidding and distribute these to pre-qualified
construction bidders selected by the DFCLT.
B. Pre-Bid Meeting: Conduct an on-site pre-bid meeting with representatives of the
DFCLT and the selected construction bidders.
C. Prepare Addendum: Collect questions from the bidders and prepare and distribute an
Addendum to answer questions and provide clarification prior to the submission of bids.
D. Review Bids: Assist the DFCLT in reviewing bids and awarding the contract for
construction.
2.2 CONSTRUCTION PERIOD SERVICES:
A. Preconstruction Meeting: Bernardon shall conduct a pre-construction meeting with
representatives of the DFCLT and the selected Contractor. Bernardon shall prepare and
distribute minutes of the meeting.
B. Construction Meetings: Bernardon shall conduct bi-weekly construction meetings at the
site with the DFCLT, the Contractor and any Subcontractors. Bernardon shall also
review the work at the site following these meetings. Bernardon shall prepare and
distribute minutes of the meetings. The Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
shall attend project meetings as determined necessary in consultation with Bernardon
and the DFCLT.
