SCHEDULE
Bernardon anticipates that the project schedule for design, bidding and construction as
follows:
· Kickoff Meeting To Be Determined
· Preconstruction Site Meeting 1 week
· Scope Memorandum 2 weeks
· Construction Phase To Be Determined
Phase 1.B – Design Documents for Dennis House Restoration and Reconstruction
SCOPE
Phase 1B encompasses the full restoration and reconstruction of the Dennis House to its ca.
1940 configuration and appearance. The existing timber frame wall sections will be evaluated
for reuse and repair; the existing structure will be repaired as required; new structural timber
floor, wall and roof framing will be constructed as described in the HSR; replacement of the
existing basement floor with a new concrete floor slab; new exterior siding, roofing, doors and
windows; new interior partitions, finishes, stairs, doors and fittings; and new north porch
foundations, floor, walls, and roof; installation of concealed modern utilities, including geo-
thermal heating and cooling, water, plumbing, septic, electrical, lighting, data, and emergency
power systems. Bernardon and the consulting engineers (hereinafter the “Design Team”) will
provide the following scope of services: removal of the basement floor slab; archeology below
the floor slab and at the exterior perimeter of the foundation walls; installation of a new
basement floor slab with an underfloor drainage system.
1.B.1 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
A. Kickoff Meeting: Attend a virtual kickoff meeting with representatives of the Dennis
Farm Charitable Land Trust (DFCLT), and others as appropriate to verify the project
scope, special requirements and schedule.
B. Field Survey: Meet on site to verify the existing conditions and probable extent of
repairs in sufficient detail to design and prepare construction documents for the Project.
C. Geotechnical RFP: The structural engineer will prepare a geotechnical engineering
Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Owner’s use, requesting design parameters for new
foundations, under slab drainage, etc.
D. Building Code Review: Perform a review of the building codes and standards that will
apply to the Project.
