PROJECT SCOPE
General Design
· Restore and reconstruct the house to its ca. 1940 configuration and appearance as described in

the 2018 HSR.
· Use modern construction required to meet modern construction codes.

· Finish materials and fixtures shall match original ca.1940 decor.

· Provide energy efficient geo-thermal HVAC system. The new system shall be designed to

control temperature and humidity. Ductwork shall be concealed.
· It should be noted that for reasons of historical accuracy, the Dennis House will be

constructed much as it was in ca. 1940. Therefore, the building will not provide the levels of
insulation, temperature, and humidity control possible in a totally modern facility.
· Install reproduction fixtures and modern lighting to enhance the visitor experience.

· Provide modern digital communication infrastructure. Final data system will be by others.

· Provide smoke and fire detection alarm system.

· Provide on-site backup power generation system.

Cellar
· Repair the existing stone wall finishes and exposed timber frame structure.

· The basement may have limited public access to exhibit the building’s reconstructed

exposed timber frame structure.
· Provide general storage of salvaged materials.
