EVAPCO HVAC Manufacturing, Taneytown, Maryland – This project included MEP engineering services for a new
156,700 sf manufacturing plant for Evapco. The project will also include a 25,000 SF total office space. Design
included a 4000-amp, 277/480 volt, 3 phase service, LED lighting, fire alarm system, fire pump, 11 overhead cranes,
47 welding stations and power connections to 50+ pieces of manufacturing equipment. The HVAC design included
duel temperature piping with a central boiler and chiller for dehumidification and heating of the plant. The plumbing
design included compressed air, trench drains, and large submersion tanks for testing of the coils.
Gordon Foods Distribution Centers, Multiple projects – Pittsburgh PA – Atlanta GA – Charlotte NC- This project
included MEP design build, BIM modeling and LEED services for a 415,000sf new distribution center and a 20,000sf
new vehicle maintenance building with 41,000sf of office spaces, 234,000sf of refrigerated spaces, and 160,000sf of
storage, maintenance and utility areas. The electrical design included primary power service, parallel generators for
normal and emergency backup of the entire building, power for refrigeration systems, conveyor systems, HVAC,
lighting, and site lighting. Lighting design included LED high efficiency general illumination and task lighting for pick
areas plus decorative accent lighting in selective areas. The warehouse LED lighting was designed to replace normal
fire alarm strobes by flashing selected fixtures, reducing installation cost and interference with operations in high
racking areas. Electrical systems included phone and data distribution and coordination, fire alarm, and card
access. The mechanical design included rooftop packaged heating and cooling systems for the office areas, heating
and ventilation for storage, service and utility areas and plumbing for restrooms and tepid water distribution for roof
mounted safety showers and wash down hoses.
Wolfgang Confectioners Loganville, PA- Paragon provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for
the existing 56,000 square foot facility. To convert the former printing factory to a full candy manufacturing facility,
existing systems were upgraded to provide HVAC with low temperature cooling and electrical and plumbing services
to support the new candy processing and packaging equipment for two candy lines.
Wolfgang Confectioners Expansion, PA- Paragon provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for
three additions totaling approximately 80,000 square feet and renovations to approximately 29,000 square feet of the
existing building. The resulting facility will have two additional candy lines and added storage for raw and finished
goods along with expanded employee support areas.
