             ohms, or a very low resistance. If none of these ‘fixes’ improve the performance of the radio system, it will be
             the necessary to call in a radio technician who has specialized equipment to troubleshoot the problem.
             Even when radios are functioning perfectly, it’s very important to follow good radio etiquette. Remember to
             monitor the channel before transmitting, keep the transmissions brief and to the point, and use your normal
             voice. Yelling into the microphone causes the signal to distort. It’s especially important to remember this in
             emergencies when good accurate communications are vital.
             Two-way radios are one the best friends we can have while working in the field. Take care of them, and they
             will take care of you.
