OPERATIONS UPDATES

         Operation Clean Sweep Continued

vide services that covered all aspects of this effort including picking up the industrial material and ballast, replacing
ties, sourcing replacement ballast, and surfacing the track. Transportation of the materials recovered and proper
disposal was arranged by the customer. Sounds easy except for one limiting factor, it all had to be completed dur-
ing a period of complete plant shutdown and subsequent start-up. This shutdown involved multiple contractors,
escorts in and out of the facility, very little room to park equipment and raw materials, and a tight schedule to get
the work done. This is a tough task tough safety and site specific schedule for any railroad project, and this was a
brand-new team! Tough training courses proved to be a non-issue for Loram’s team as they gained knowledge of
the safe work methods at the plant. The site team also overcame maintenance constraints mainly controlled/
           limited access to RV18.

Given the team’s skills and their extensive planning the work was completed on time and within budget for
Loram’s customer. The team was able to help solve several smaller problems along the way and they were also
able to help our industrial customer learn a bit more about how railroads operate. A few tense moments were
felt as RV18 was mobilized during a tropical storm and ultimately a hurricane, but it all worked out and the ma-
chine made it to the worksite with time to spare.

We often take for granted the effort required for Loram’s crews to deliver excellent service. This RV18
team was successful because everyone made a commitment to work safely, solve problems, and properly prepare.
No one was hurt, the machine did not break down, and our sub-contractors executed flawlessly. The goal was
exceeded as the team ended up being more productive than anticipated. As we move forward Loram will pursue
more projects in the industrial space. We know our team brings great experience and solid equipment to the
jobsite. Way to go Andy, Bill, Robert, Calvin, Tracy and Robert, you all gave 110% and really delivered for our
           customer! Well done.
