                                  it into his hand.

Tho concession grauted by tho Sheikh of Bahrein to his Ynzior is dated
tho month of Saffar D. 1313, corresponding to about July-August 189o. lho
prohibition issued bv tho Sheikh to tho importation of arms into Bahrein is
                                  dated Shaban H. 1313, A.D. January 189G. I don’t know why the Sheikh
issued tho prohibition after having givou tbo concession; but it may have
been to stop too many arms coining into Bahrein. Tho concession was nnnuc
over to my uncle, Agha Mohamed Rahim, by tho Yazicr immediately after
it was granted. Air. Pracis came to Bahrein about a fortnight or tinoc
wcoks afterwards ; tho Agha cavo the concession to Pracis, but I am not sure
if this was dono at Bahrein or at Bushiro. I was not prosont when the concos-
sion was mado over to Pracis, but later on Mr. Fracis brought it to Baliieiu,
and it was read by mo to him and translated into English by Mf. Trac .
Air.. Pracis wroto it down in English, and be clearly understood that
concession was terminable at tho death of tho Vazier Abdur Kahmnn, or
