RN/PA ONBOARDING PROCESS
HIRING TEAM SUPPORT DURING NEW HIRE SCREENING
In an effort to enhance our hiring team support and candidate experience during the new hire screening
process, our Nurse Recruitment and Retention team assumes responsibility for processing job offers,
including the background check process.
This transition of work from Human Resources to Nurse Recruitment impacts all positions handled by NRR,
to include: UMPNC RNs, Advanced Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, LPNs and Nursing Leadership.
Shifting this important work provides a single point of contact for the hiring teams and candidates,
optimizes onboarding efficiencies, and decreases the time to fill.

NRR has processed a total of 2,183 new cases in FY 2023, averaging 182 cases per month; compared to
2,364 new cases (about 197 cases per month) in FY 2022. Cases include job postings and development,
job offers, leadership assessments, reference requests and salary setting for nursing leadership.
