ADVANCED PRACTICE PROFESSIONAL RECRUITING
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALITIES PLAY INTO RECRUITING THE ‘RIGHT FIT’
In FY22 Michigan Medicine experienced
an 88% increase in APP positions
filled from the year prior and to a level
that has not been seen over the last
5 fiscal years and beyond. For FY23
the number of APP hires decreased by
24% to be more in line with the pre-
pandemic hiring trends.
In FY23, the demand for experienced
Advanced Practice Professionals
continued with 86% of total APP hires
having at least one year of experience. SOURCE: HR DECISION SUPPORT
Within that 86%, half of the APP hires
had over 5+ years of experience. Of the Experience level of Advanced Practice
total NP hires, the demand for an Adult- Professionals hired in FY 23
Gerontology Acute Care NP Certification
was by far the most at 41% of the total
NPs hired.
