       DEI STRATEGIES
       NEW HIRE FEEDBACK PROVIDES INSIGHT

The New Hire Survey is sent out to our Nursing staff 8 months after their initial date of hire, in order to
gain valuable feedback about many different aspects of their experience including: employee satisfaction,
unit interaction, top stressors, orientation, and their working relationships.
FY23 was our third year of asking our new hires about diversity, equity, and inclusion at Michigan
Medicine, and within their specific unit. Overall, the majority of new hires indicated that they either
strongly agree or agree with the DEI initiatives at Michigan Medicine.
The FY23 scoring outlines opportunities of focus for the coming year.
